VSN SOCIETY LLC does not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

FlipBooks is a paid SaaS bookkeeping product. Our business model is straightforward: customers pay us for software, and we build good software. We do not participate in the digital advertising ecosystem. We do not monetize your data.

What “Sell” and “Share” Mean Under California Law

Under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA, the terms “sell” and “share” have specific technical meanings:

“Sell” means selling, renting, releasing, disclosing, disseminating, making available, transferring, or otherwise communicating a consumer’s personal information to a third party for monetary or other valuable consideration. Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.140(ad).
“Share” means disclosing personal information to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising, whether or not for monetary consideration. Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.140(ah). Cross-context behavioral advertising means targeted ads based on personal information obtained from the consumer’s activity across distinct services, businesses, or contexts.

FlipBooks does not engage in either of these activities. We do not place advertising tags, pixels, or SDKs that transmit identifiable data to ad networks for cross-context targeting.

Canadian Residents

The CCPA and CPRA are California statutes and their substantive rights apply to California residents. However, FlipBooks voluntarily extends equivalent access, correction, deletion, portability, and opt-out rights to residents of every U.S. state and every Canadian province and territory as a matter of policy, not contract.

If you are a resident of Canada, your binding statutory rights are governed by the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where applicable, provincial equivalents such as Quebec’s Act Respecting the Protection of Personal Information in the Private Sector (Law 25), Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), and British Columbia’s PIPA. You may exercise those rights by submitting a request at useflipbooks.com/privacy-request or by emailing useflipbooks@gmail.com with the subject line “PIPEDA Request.” Quebec residents may also contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec; other Canadian residents may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

The form on this page can still be used by Canadian residents — select “Canadian province” in the dropdown and we will process your request under PIPEDA or the applicable provincial law, as a courtesy matter of practice rather than under California law.

Your Rights

Regardless of your state of residence, you can exercise the following rights with respect to the personal information we hold about you:

Right to know what personal information we’ve collected, used, disclosed, and retained.
Right to delete personal information we’ve collected, subject to narrow exceptions (tax records, fraud prevention, legal compliance).
Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
Right to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information — which, for FlipBooks, means confirming that we are not engaged in those activities and recording your preference in our system of record.
Right to limit use of sensitive personal information.
Right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

Authorized Agents

You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. In that case, we may require:

Written permission signed by you, or a valid power of attorney under California Probate Code §§ 4000 – 4465;
Verification of your identity directly with us; and
Verification of the agent’s identity.

Response Timeline

Acknowledgment: within 10 business days of receipt.
Substantive response: within 45 calendar days (CCPA) or 15 business days (CPRA opt-out requests), with a possible 45-day extension for complex requests.
Method of response: to the email address on file, in a portable and, to the extent technically feasible, readily usable format.

Global Privacy Control

FlipBooks honors the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid opt-out preference signal under Cal. Code Regs. tit. 11, § 7025. If your browser transmits a GPC signal or legacy Do Not Track header, we treat it as an opt-out of any sale or sharing of your personal information for the duration of that browsing session.
